If you’re ready to free yourself from cumbersome grooming rituals like shaving, waxing or plucking, laser hair removal is an effective, long-lasting solution. It disables hair follicles with precisely-targeted laser heat, preventing future hair growth on any area of the body without downtime.
This procedure can be used on any area of the body, including:
It works by injuring and disabling active hair follicles with laser energy. This process causes the hairs to fall out over time and prevents future hair growth.
Your treated hair will start to fall out within two weeks to the first month following your treatment. However, it typically takes a series of treatments to target and disable every hair follicle, since laser hair removal can only disable active hair follicles. Since hair growth is never consistently active, multiple treatments are often necessary to obtain your goal.
There is no downtime with laser hair removal, so you will be able to resume your normal routine immediately after your treatment.
Laser hair removal is well tolerated by most people. Mild side effects may include redness, a sunburn sensation or swelling, but these concerns should subside quickly on their own in the hours after treatment.
Since laser hair removal requires the roots of your hair follicles to be intact, you need to stop plucking, waxing or electrolysis for at least a month before your treatment. You should also avoid sun exposure, tanning beds and tanning creams, which increase your risk of side effects. One week prior to treatment, stop using exfoliating agents such as Retin-A, glycolic acid, or photosensitizing medications. If you arrive with tanned skin, we will have to cancel your appointment. Shave your treatment area the day of or before your treatment session.
