Ask These Questions Before Your Injectable Treatment Alpharetta, GA
You may feel like you’re being annoying, but it’s smart to ask lots of questions before your injectable treatment. Not only does it help you better understand the nuances of your treatment, but it also helps us learn about you so that we can deliver the exact results you want. Plus, you’ll feel more relaxed and confident knowing that you’re in the know! While there’s no such thing as a right or wrong question, here are a few FAQs to get you started:
Which injectable treatment is best for me?
Botox and dermal fillers benefit different areas of the face, so which is best for you typically depends on which areas of your face you’re looking to improve. Botox reduces forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet, while dermal fillers add volume and reduce wrinkles around the nose and mouth. Luckily, these differences work wonderfully together! If you’re interested in reducing lines and wrinkles on your entire face, we may recommend using both Botox and dermal fillers for a balanced, years-younger effect. We can help you determine which (or both) is best to use during your personal consultation.
Will I look “done”?
Not when your injectable treatment is administered by highly trained and experienced medical professionals like the expert team at SafiraMD. Our master injectors have the experience to provide the most natural-looking cosmetic injections that blend seamlessly with your facial contours.
How much downtime should I expect?
With Botox and dermal fillers, it’s safe to expect minimal downtime. Many patients experience no downtime. However, with every injectable treatment, there is always a risk of bruising, swelling, or pinpoint bleeding. We advise our clients to never schedule their injectable appointment for the day of or day before an important event. Be sure to schedule your appointment for a time when you’re able to go home and relax for the rest of the day, and try to put a few days, if not a week, between your appointment and an important event. That way, you can ensure you’re fully healed and looking your absolute best!
Are there any ways I can enhance my results?
Absolutely! There are several things you can do before and after your injectable treatment appointment to help boost your results and your recovery. Here are a few tips:
Avoid alcohol and other blood thinners (NSAIDS, garlic, ginkgo, ginger, and ginseng) for at least two days leading up to your injectable treatment session. With blood thinners in your system, you increase the chance of bruising or pinpoint bleeding. (Always consult your physician before making any changes to the medications you take.)
Ice your injection area right before heading to your appointment. Icing the area helps shrink your blood vessels, which is another effective way to reduce your chances of bruising or bleeding. After your session, it’s also helpful to apply ice on and off for a few minutes at a time, to help reduce swelling.
Add a cream or serum containing retinol to your daily skin care regimen. Retinol, a derivative of vitamin A, is the most widely-studied and proven skin care ingredient in the world. Retinol rejuvenates skin by stimulating cellular turnover and the production of new collagen. (If your skin is prone to irritation, avoid retinol immediately before or after your injectables treatment.) The key is to incorporate powerhouse retinol into your daily skin care routine to help strengthen the foundational layers of your skin. Applying a retinol cream or serum daily, over the long term, will go a long way toward enhancing your injectable benefits and maintaining your youthful-looking radiance.
